There are new rules in the game of golf that limit the groove volume on golf clubs that have a loft equal to or higher than 25 degrees. Generally, this will apply to anything above a 5 iron. The rules install a limit on the sharpness of the groove edges on the clubface and the shape of the grooves has been substantially revised .

The new rules only really apply to all golf clubs manufactured after 1 January 2010. Clubs that were manufactured prior to that date that and met the previous regulations will be valid until at least 2024. Pre-2010 models may be manufactured until the end of year 2010.

The new groove regulations mean that it is likely to be harder to hit a shot from the rough and get as much spin on it than was previously possible . The USGA is implementing this change because they feel that golfers should be playing for more fairway accuracy than is currently the case. It will effectively penalise those that do not keep their ball in the fairway.

Commencing from January 1, 2010, all professionals and amateurs qualified to play in professional tournaments are affected by this ruling. The ruling will apply to lower level professionals and elite amateurs from 2014. It is likely that the ruling will be applied to all golfers with effect from 2024 but this will be reviewed in 2020.

If you are an everyday average amateur golfer then you don’t really need to worry about these rules as they stand now. You can still use your existing clubs but keep in mind the changes if you are looking to change your clubs in the next few years and make sure you get ones that conform to the new regulations so that you are not restricted as to how long you can use them.

To improve your overall golf game one of the most important things you can do is to focus on making progress on your putting abilities. While it may appear to be impossible, basically practicing and working to progress a few small things will seriously progress your golfing skills. As soon as you have determined what you must do, master the skills by practicing them until you have conquered them. Taking the time to practice your putting is extremely important and by acquiring a respectable putting ability, will in the end translate into a much-improved long shot. Check out our range of golf equipment and supplies

Of course you are going to need to practice to progress, but the correct skills that you need to practice have a tendency to differ from one player to the next. As a general rule of thumb, there are three things that you should specifically concentrate on in order to get the best golf game possible. The first and elementry golf skill is making sure that your swing is right so that you will make contact with the ball precisely in the center of the club head. The same fundamental theory applies to all golf shots and to get on top of your putting you should also hit the ball in the middle of the club head. Unless you strike the ball dead on the center you can’t expect the ball to go straight and you will never be able to master your putting. It doesen’t matter how much you practice, it’s just not possible and will result in a lot of annoyance over what you are doing wrong.

Before moving onto ensuring that you constantly hit the ball in a straight line to the target you should have worked hard to get better at striking the ball from the center of the club head. Think of it like this, if you need to hit the ball two feet away from you in the direction of the lake, you would not want to aim the ball in the direction of the tree along side it. Always when addressing the ball, you have to approach it squarely to the target in order to hit the target, but surprising as it may sound lots of casual golfers don’t do this. Then they are totally astonished because they have not hit the target. Your putting proficiency could be acutely changed by being off square to the target by just a small percentage and the ball will not go where you need it to go.

A good number of casual golfers do not know when they are just a little off center from the target, therefore it’s very vital you practice this point a lot until it becomes second nature. An increased handicap for most golfers is usually as a result of missed shots so even the smallest amount of difference away from the target can have an effect on your scores. Putting skills don’t have to be rehearsed on a golf course as you can without difficulty practice this ability with a home putting green in the office or at home. Going to a golf driving range is not going to help improve your putting skills so while practicing your putting abilities steer clear of them if you can.

The final putting skill you need to work on to advance your putting is to ensure that you accelerate the club head when coming into contact with the ball. A lot of casual golfers make the mistake of slowing the club head down before they come into contact with the ball. Slowing the putter head down will mean you lose the thrust that’s needed for the ball to reach the target. Rehearse this skill and make a conscious attempt not to slow the putter down before contacting the ball will by and large be sufficient to progress your putting and give you some better results.

A golfer always brings a Golf travel bag. It is a kind of bag used primarily to carry and transport golf clubs of golfers. If we examine its characteristics, they are typically made from polyester, leather or nylon and commonly have cylindrical form to accommodate the size and shape of golf clubs. Historically, these bags were made from a material like that of elephant’s penis. However today, it is being constructed from plastic form materials. Golf travel bag can be carried or can be pulled on with the use of pull cart or it can also be attached to a golf cart during play time. These bags are customized with both shoulder and hand strap so you can carry it by hand or on the shoulder. They also have legs that can be pulled back that will allow bags to stand straight when needed.

Like ordinary bags, Golf travel bags also come in different colors and sizes. There are additional features such as PVC bottom for more durable bag and Identification holder for identification purposes. Some bags use pads for club security system on upper area and strap that is padded and adjustable. Others are designed with zipper-protected big extra pockets for storage of shoes and other golf accessories. Modern golf bags feature a design that looks like a case or chest. They are made from hard-case material of ABS that is light weight. Instead of zipper, they use latches for locks for security which is made of light-weight polyethylene material.

There are different kinds of Golf Travel bags, most of them are classified according to use.

Heavy Duty Soft Bag: This style is used by more touring professionals on their tours- If you purchase this bag, prefer a bag with wheels that makes it easy to handle. Check to be sure the padding is extra thick to protect your clubs and choose a bag that has lots of extra pockets with solid zippers so you can carry all the accessories in your Golf trip.

Hybrid Bag: This type of bag can be used both the golf course and while traveling. Look for one that offers all the features of a cart bag, and Choose a bag with in-line wheels for an easier time crossing those long airport lobbies.

Hi-Impact Polyester Travel Bag: This type of bag has a cloth cover but should be reinforced with some interior lamination, ordinarily using PVC. Soft sides should be well padded wherein quilted material is best.

If you are planning to purchase a Golf Travel bag, here are some areas to consider:
Type: A type of bag is classified as hard or soft. For a secured all-around protection of your golf equipments, you should go for a hard golf travel bag. However, many golfers stay away from them because they are very expensive but their value is proportional to their price

Size: The size of the Golf bags you are going to purchase depends on the lengths of your golf clubs, as well as the highest number of clubs you would like to carry at a time.

Security: Golf equipments are very expensive, so choosing a golf bag with the highest safety mechanism is a very good idea. Do not go for bags with just a mere latch or zipper.

Handling: Golf Travel bags can be carried either by hand or by shoulder. Having both would be great specially if the handles are durable and strong enough for you to be able to carry the maximum weight allowed for the bag conveniently. Some bags that has wheels are also great for long distance travelling.

Golf is a very nice game, more likely you play it with exuberance, and sometimes you surprise yourself. For those golfers determined to play all year round and travels all the time, a golf travel bag becomes a essential purchase. Whether you are travelling by plane or train, your golf clubs are assured of protection.

Golf has always been considered as a sport of the elegant where players strut up their stuff to get on the greens and tee away their balls. Over the years, golf has been able to inspire a million players around the world where they grow from novice to pro over time. While the rules of the game seem relatively simple, there is much more that meets the eye. Any avid golf enthusiast will tell you that in order to make the most of your game; the right approach would be to opt for the right equipment which would contribute to the overall game play of the player. It is imperative that golf players get the right gear, clubs, shoes, gloves and more so that they can amplify their game on the fairway.

Golf Balls

Nowadays, spin rates are determined by the softness of the ball’s cover instead of its construction. However, the old rules of the two-piece ball providing for less spin and more distance while a multi-layer ball produces more spin and more feel still applies.

There are also recommendations and observations like 2-piece balls being good for novice players because it maximizes distance and minimizes spin, the 3-piece performance ball is for intermediate golfers with no problems on their backspin and the 4-piece performance balls are for handicappers and expert players with fast swings.

Whatever the choice you make in golf balls, we recommend sticking to it for a while to achieve some consistency before jumping to another brand. However, it is also advisable to change balls depending on the location and weather conditions especially when you are adept at controlling the other factors in distance and control. Thus, performance balls are for difficult greens and wide fairways while a 2-piece ball is for easy greens and narrow fairways.

Golf Bags

When selecting a golf bag, you will first choose between two important styles: cart bags and stand carry bags. The golf cart bag is designed for play with a golf cart. A cart-style bag can typically offer a wide variety of features, pockets and extra storage that a stand carry bag may not have. When the golf cart is going to be the chief mode of transportation for your clubs and other equipment, choosing a solid, durable, and well-equipped cart bag allows you to maximize the equipment you carry as well as the way you carry it.

The second major type of golf bag is a golf stand carry bag. This type of bag differs from a golf cart bag because it is designed to be carried not by the golf cart, but by the golfer. Therefore, one of the most noticeable differences between the two is the bag’s layout. A bag meant to be carried will come with one or two shoulder straps, and will also be equipped with strong but lightweight legs to prop the bag up when you stop to take a shot. Stand carry bags are also known for being lightweight while still strong and durable. The more streamlined the bag’s features are, the easier it is for you to carry your gear as you traverse the course on foot.

Golf Shoes

One of the characteristic features of golf shoes are the spikes. Golf shoes have spikes for one obvious reason, traction. Golf doesn’t require the same kind of traction you need in football, baseball, or soccer, but it does have its own specific traction requirements. First of all, you won’t always being playing on a flat surface. You’ll often find yourself on all sorts of slopes and angles. Picture the difficulty of pitching the ball from sloped rough in a slippery pair of shoes. Your feet will be moving around and you’ll end up shanking the ball straight at your partners. That’s why golf shoes have spikes on them. Also, you won’t always be playing on perfectly dry grass. If you have any experience with wet grass you know it can be extremely slippery. Again, this is where the spikes become necessary. It’s of the utmost important that you maintain proper form during your swing, and it’s almost impossible to do that if your feet are sliding around. When considering the type of shoe and spikes you’ll need, keep in mind the course, or courses, you usually play on. If you normally play on dry, flat courses, then you won’t need quite as much traction as you would if you regularly play uneven courses in moist environments. Regardless of where you play, you’ll want spikes because they’re key in keeping your feet properly placed whether you’re driving the ball or putting.

Golf Clubs

Today there many companies that about preach about offering the best golfing services. As a Beginner, I believe you’ve probably have a hard time trying to make a consistent contact with the ball. Sometimes hitting it, with the heel and toe of the club, at first you be faced with difficulties while topping the ball or hitting the ground first. Note: as you may have realized, am using ‘difficult’ (which is a ‘positive word’) rather than ‘problem’ (which is a ‘negative word’) – maybe you would want to adopt that in your thinking. As beginner you may also have difficulties getting the club head to the ball in a square position. This means your club head. In most cases the ball from outside of the target line (out-to-in) and at a steep angle. This results in your typical shot shape being a slice – a shot that curves right. Use of proper club is an added advantage.

The ideal set for a beginner would be one that takes into account the swing/hit issues mentioned above.

One of the best known brands in golfing is ping and it would be advisable for new golfers to consider. Their professional level of equipment has very good reviews from most golfing magazines. One benefit of it is that they recommend adaptable clubs and some half sets for newbies. Also you can join their golf course along with a few dissimilar clubs that will fiddle with different styles. This little but yet very important selection will permit you to improve the gaming skills and become a pro regarding the stroke technique. Afterward, you may want to decide graduating up to full club set with all the 14 varieties. It is a moment when you will exactly know which club is needed in every situation and also you’ll be able to pick the best one when you need it.

This equipment can be found on golf courses. Players generally seek to have a quality golf equipment, as this gives better performance in the field.

Many people think that golf is a game that they cannot play. It could be that they think they are not the kind of person who usually plays or that they would not be good enough. Whatever the reasons there are plenty of excellent benefits to playing golf that should not stand in your way. There is so much to be gained and it is great fun too.

A Further Reason For Playing

There are as many good reasons to exercise as there are good reasons to play golf. Everyone’s awareness of the need for a wholesome lifestyle is increasing, yet many people select not to do anything to exercise.

Perhaps, the commonest purpose for this is clear, many individuals find exercise boring. So, for that reason, it’s vital to search out an exercise that excites you. If you’ve any interest in golf, you’ll find that it can be much more entertaining than lifting weights or running a treadmill.

It’s Suitable For All

Golf is usually a helpful exercise activity for the younger and old, with few, if any, bodily limitations in place. Women and men can take pleasure in it, and the entertaining nature of golf can make you forget the actual fact you’re exercising!

It’s a sport that’s fairly simple to be taught too, and those that are put off by watching golf, on television, will find that it’s a completely different beast when you’re out on the golf course. The combination of exercise and entertainment makes it simpler to fit into a busy lifestyle.

The Golfing Bug

For those who, like me, get bitten by the golfing bug, you’ll end up searching for excuses to play. I can’t think about one other place I’d go in search of exercise. I’ve acquired rivalries and personal delight to spur me on, so I’m always looking to practice, or play a round.

Whether or not I’m practising my drive, on the range, or playing a full round, I’m getting exercise. That’s why golf is turning non exercising people into sporting go-getters, across the world. I discover that going for the perfect golf swing can be reward enough in itself, however knowing I’m getting fitter, at the same time, actually takes some beating.Visit improve golf swing.

Exercise From The Off

Should you take lessons, you’ll be getting exercise from the get go. Likewise for those who determine to take up a buddy’s offer to play, you’ll be getting quite the work-out. Any extra learning you do will enhance your agility and stamina, until you’re questing for the perfect golf swing too.

Many people start playing when they are out of shape but it should not get in the way of the game. You can shorten the number of holes that you play or even just start with some drives and putting until you feel comfortable going out onto the course.
Get a great golf swing over at golf pitching.

The key is to start playing and work up to being very good. Nobody starts off as a natural, it takes practice. But as you play more frequently you will find you adapt quickly.

Following on from my last article, we are now on our way down in the golf swing and heading towards the collision at impact with the golf ball. The position of your body at impact determines the ball’s flight, so it pays to your body angles right.

1 Shaft lean –With iron shots the shaft should lean a little forward at this point, compressing the ball and adding power. With the driver, the club head and grip arrive as one, setting up more of a sweeping strike when making the golf swing.

2 Hips clear – The shoulders should be fairly square and the left hip will be higher because the left leg is straighter. Place a club against your hips to see this for yourself and you will see that the angle of club on your hips, when turned through into the impact area of your golf swing is parallel to the angle of your shoulders.

3 Maintain Flex – This is a very important position to form correctly. The hips have cleared open with the left leg straightened, but not locked.

A good drill to practise and to feel the effect of this is to on to your driving range or practice area. Set up to the tee in your impact position without a ball, following the key points above. Push against the tee with the club. Now hold this position for a few seconds and then follow through.

Apply force – This drill in your golf swing will enforce the feeling of a correct impact position and get you applying pressure in the right direction – into the back of the ball with a downward blow.

Try this drill and you will a consistent effect on with your driving, and with your irons.

Follow through – Many amateurs neglect the importance of the follow through in the belief that when the ball has been set on its way at impact, what is the relevance of how a follow through finishes up in the golf swing.

Well the answer to this is that it is just as important as the rest of your golf swing, because the way you have completed your golf swing is a good indication of how your down swing and impact will have looked like.

BALANCE in your follow through is the key to finding a stylish follow through that sees the ball sailing straight.

In your finish position, your chest should be fully rotated through to face the target. Make sure your weight is towards your left heel. The right foot will naturally be toes-down on the ground.

Finish as a unit – Shoulder turn and arm swing continue as a unit to the end of the golf swing. If your body stops turning and your arms race ahead, you will see a lack of consistency in your ball striking

Target face – The hips should also be facing the target in the finish if have cleared properly through impact.

A natural, rather than a forced finish is where your weight has shifted to the outside of your left foot, and your right foot is up on its toes with the sole facing vertically backwards and finally chest facing the target and the hands high above and slightly behind the left shoulder.

I hope this will help you to improve your golf swing Click here now for your FREE information

Among the list of very important bits of golf gear will be the golf shoe. Your golfing shoe makes it possible keep the feel anchored on the ground so you will not slip throughout your swing.

You will observe that on the market today there are a few different types of shoes. First there is the golfing sandal this is actually the most recent form of shoe for golfing. There are many players that like the light-weight sense of this kind of footwear. Wearing this kind of shoe is extremely comfortable and the sandal is breathable and it has spikes on the bottom such as standard golfing shoes. Only drawback is you can only really put on these types of footwear if the weather is really nice and the grass is not too moist.

Next you have the traditional golf shoe. This is actually the most common type of golf shoe. These shoes are the all around best option for golfing because of the water resistance, cool styles and comfort. These types of shoes can vary with regards to comfort so it’s best to try on numerous brands to find out what type is going to be the most comfortable particularly when you’re a walker. Almost all golf shoes right now now have soft spikes due to the course rules.

Probably the most unusual type of shoe is the golfing boot. The boot provides additional water resistant protection and extra warmth for the die hards which golf when it’s cool outdoors.

One of the most frequent substance used for golfing footwear is leather-based. Leather functions the best cause it helps make the shoe stretch free, form fitted and water-proof. Most of these shoes are of pretty decent quality and most companies will certainly back their footwear with a 1-2 year warranty. Linings inside the footwear likewise differ. Some linings within the shoe are water resistant which is also called Gore-Tex. One other form of shoe lining is the polyester. Polyester is more affordable then the gore-tex lining and the lining is spread throughout the interior shoe. This is what shields the shell of the shoe.

In terms of the bottom of golf footwear there are spikes. Really in current times you have plastic spikes. Back in the day you had metal spikes however it was deemed too damaging for the course so we now have plastic. Another advantage of plastic spikes is that they can be changed out when they become worn or you want some thing different.

Never ignore the importance of the golfing shoe. Take a look at many different types of footwear and try them on. Keep simple points like comfort, waterproofing and most of all comfort when looking at shoes.

Whether it’s shoes or custom golfing golf balls for beginners making the effort to find the correct equipment for you can do a lot.

Too many golfers think they need the absolute best golf clubs in order to compete. While getting bad clubs or the wrong type for you can be detrimental, the clubs should never be considered as the deciding factor between as good round of golf and a bad round.

If you speak to a professional golfer then they will very likely have a clear idea of what they expect from their clubs. It is essential for them to be at the top of their game so understanding the importance of the right clubs will be something they work on. But what about an amateur golfer. There are some things they can learn about to help get the most from their clubs.

Money Isn’t Every thing

In relation to golf clubs it may be satisfying to keep up with the latest trends from manufacturers, but the adjustments are incremental, plus they need skill to get the most out of, in many cases.

While it pays to buy quality, you’ll get probably the most out of things if you get an excellent understanding of what you wish to improve. So, even experienced players can do well to keep this in mind. Believe me, it is simple for anyone to be lured by the promise of a shiny new club.
More can be found at Perfect golf swing tips

Understand And Improve

Take for example, the process of upgrading a driver. It’s easy to look at all of the options and pick the most costly, or the flashiest, most high tech looking example. But, until you know the necessity, in your golf game, which you wish to deal with, you’ll in all probability choose the incorrect one. Either that, or you’ll fail to get the most out of its benefits.

In the case of the new driver you’ll need to give attention to whether or not you want more distance or more accuracy, Do not forget that each golfer’s need is different. This need might also fluctuate in the run of your golfing development.
More tips at beginner golf tips

If you’re conscious that your accuracy is missing, chances are that you’ll spend time working on it, until there’s little or no want for an accuracy enhancing driver. At this stage, you may most likely change to a driver that focuses on distance. The more you improve your swing expertise, the more luxury of choice you’ll have.

As You Develop, So Do The Clubs

Preserving in mind that your club wants to develop with your game is vital to managing your improvements.

Whenever you start off, cast iron clubs are generally advisable as they’ve a bigger ‘sweet spot’ than forged clubs. As your game develops and your swing control improves, you’ll discover that forged clubs give you better control of the trajectory of the ball. After all you’ll need to have good control to get the most out of them, due to that smaller sweet spot.
More blog posts at putting tips

Don’t, as a newcomer, be tempted to assume that you should purchase these more advanced, forged clubs now, because of a future need. Work on improving your game with ‘simpler’ golf equipment first. You’ll generally know when your clubs are holding you back. Besides, it won’t help you to keep away from pointless purchases, in the future, if you start off on that path!

The Sweet Spot And Club Dimension

The sweet spot of a club is actually essential, because it dictates the margin of error obtainable to a golfer. It’s the reason why there are a variety of choices obtainable, in terms of the dimensions of a golf club’s head. As a rule, the smaller the head of the club, the smaller the margin of error available.

So, with that in mind, skilled players ought to discover small headed clubs to be helpful, while those of a beginner to intermediate level should find a medium sized head more forgiving.

You might assume if you are new to the sport that you should go for a large club head but you should be aware that this will limit the control you have over the ball so it will take longer to become really good.

When you have quality golf clubs you need to make sure you are using them and getting the most from them so get out on the course and start practicing.

Golf is just like everything else in life, you don’t become a professional over night. It takes time, now that does not mean we should just sit on the couch and wait for time to pass by so we can be good in what we want to be. The most important is self discipline and training!!!

Now. Let’s say I’m not happy with my golf swing and I want to improve my swing.

So, the first thing you should look at is to determine what is the problem with your golf swing.

Now how do we find the problem with our golf swing?

There are a few solutions. You can pay a pro for a day of training, this is by far the most expensive. The professional showed you how to swing, but tomorrow you go play a game with your friends and your swing is slicing or something is happening, now you don’t know what you are doing wrong, because you are swinging exactly as the pro told you. OR you can just struggle onwards till you figure out by yourself what are your weakness. OR I’ll advise you to buy yourself the Simple Golf Swing e-book. This e-book is going to train you to train yourself. “Weird, hey?” The Simple Golf Swing will train you to know exactly what you did wrong or right with every swing you play. Click on one of the links in this article to get your hands on the Simple Golf Swing.

Now that you know what you are doing right and what your weaknesses are you need to focus on that weaknesses. This is where you need a golf swing drill. A golf swing drill that is specially to practice and improve your weakness. Now where can we get the perfect golf swing drill? Bobby Eldridge from Pure Point Golf has solved this problem for us with a product called Golf Swing Drills, this is a DVD of 14 of the best swing drills. The Golf Swing Drills DVD comes with a price, but what in life is for free. If you buy the Golf Swing Drills through the link in this article you will get a lot of extras, such as the Swing Analysis that is a computer program where you can compare your golf swing with a computerizes swing, and this will identify what you are doing wrong when you swing.

Remember, nothing happens overnight, you will have to practice a lot. The best time to practice is right after a game of golf, strange, but here’s why. When you practice right after a game of golf your body and mind is still fresh and remembers what you did wrong on the golf course, so after a golf game is the best time to practice.

For golf instruction tips you can also follow one of the links in this article, where you can then browse around for golf instruction tips.

As an avid golfer who tries to spend as much time on the greens, it’s also a known fact that golf clubs can be a very expensive equipment to buy for a sport. Any serious golfer would be willing to pay a lot of money for performance golf sets are more than willing to pay more attention in how to protect them against damage.

Driver headcovers are the best way to protect the heads of your most valuable clubs. These days, drivers are made of very thin titanium while fairway woods are made of thin stainless steel.

As the woods are finished with decorative paint schemes, it’s important that the golfer remembers to protect the thin metals with driver headcovers from getting dented, scratched or the paint getting chipped.

As an example, a very common reason why golf clubs get damaged are due to slides and rattles while in the bag, so it’s important that the golfer keep in mind to replace the driver headcovers during play. These days it’s getting common that newer versions of driver headcovers are made with extra long knit necks to protect the graphite shafts from damage while inside the bag. Playing your favourite game or even moving around can cause serious scratch of the graphite shaft’s outer coating, potentially leading to more serious damage.

Nowadays, driver headcovers are available in a wide range of brand names and designs. One can even find specially made driver headcovers manufactured to suit the golfer’s needs. Driver headcovers ranging from animals, comic characters or even flags can be chosen for the design of your driver headcovers to add some diversity. If you’re buying a new set, mostl of these driver and fairway club models will have their own driver headcovers already available just for that club. New designs and styles are being made available at a fast rate and some can be opened quickly while some are held together with Velcro or even a magnet.

For those who prefer some added variety, there are also iron driver headcovers which are now also available. These are normally made from a rubber based material and cover only the club head, and not the shaft. They normally have a opening in the side that allows sliding them onto the club head very easy. Many iron driver headcovers are connected together with a heavy cord, to minimize loss of the covers.

Lastly, it’s not very difficult for golfers to find an alternative as driver headcovers can even be purchased online.

Check out important info about golf stretching exercise – please make sure to go through the web site.
